Does any one have any idea what the approximate raw mark cut off is for a band 6 in extension 2 (4 unit) mathematics?

All Extension courses have a different band system ranging from Band E1, E2, E3 to E4, not Band 1 - 6.
Oh... does E4 still correspond to 90-100 % ?

It isnt incredibly high as Math Ext2 has very high scaling. My teacher told me that you should aim to complete 5/8 of the exam in order to gain a band 5 equivalent. You do not need to ace the exam to get high. Examiners hardly ever receive any test papers that have been completed. So aim for about 5/8 or 63% for a raw mark and you will do exceptionally well. GOODLUCK!!!

A band E4 is roughly around 80+/120 on average depending on the difficulty of the test, as a rough estimate I got 93 last year and I thought I got around 90ish/120

assuming youve seen the exam this year, what do you think the raw band 6 cutoff would be this year?

60-70% raw should be a E3.

6 out of 8 students got E4s in ext 2 at my school last year. Does that mean they got 90-100 as an HSC mark or 80-100??? I gues I'm asking if in an extension subject worth 2 units like ext 2 maths, does an E4 equate to 80+ or 90+

yes. every year there is at least one student that gets 117+/120. ridiculous i know but there are always geniuses. and i guess i's aiming for mid to high 90s and if possible (ie q8 is my sorta question) 100's. bet the top guy at our school will get 106+ easy.

wait wats the marks (scaled) for the E4, E3, and E2?

im really confused cause from UNSW hsc plus, they say in 2u u need band 5 to get 2 units cut off

whilst Ext 2 u need at least E3 to get tht... so i found it unfair... band 5 in 2u is easy... arg

Ur looking at mid-to high 80's i reckon...this years cssa paper was quiet easy...especially compared to hsc exams. But in saying that there is still time left until hsc and alot of room for improvement, so e4 is there for the taking if ur willing to work for it !
