I know it's not assumed knowledge. I know it's beneficial but isn't needed to get into law.
But does Extension 1 English provide bonus points or any sort of advantage in any way for getting into Law?
I'm aiming for Commerce/Law or Business/Law as my ultimate goal...

Don't think so. I looked into it on Careers day and you don't get bonus points for getting Band5/6 in the extensions. I found out that you can get it for Commerce though. (I asked the UNSW faculty not sure about the others)

Here's the link - http://www.unsw.edu.au/domestic-undergraduate/hsc-plus

No. I don't think any law courses within Sydney offer bonus points for a Band 5/6 in a subject, however some universities may offer bonus points towards law for specific extracurricular activities. For example, UNSW offers bonus points for law under their Elite Athletes and Performers Program.

Looked into that too, you need to have made it in nationals level. That is hella hard.

No.

There are no bonus points for Law at any of these institutions. The only uni I know of that offers bonus points for Law is UWS.

Only do Extension English if you enjoy English currently. Remember you always have the option of choosing it for prelim and then dropping it. As you said, it definitely is beneficial.

So it would be extremely difficult to gain entry via the AAA scholarship if you attend a selective school.

alstah, UNSW does offer bonus points for Law if you meet certain requirements. See the link I posted earlier in the thread. I'm not sure about other universities within Sydney.

Yes, my mistake. USyd also offers bonus points for Elite Athlete. Do you fall under that criteria? I assumed you were talking about bonus points for HSC Plus.

I'm not an Elite Athlete, but I am part of the Duke of Edinburgh program. Does USyd offer bonus points for DoE too?

Also look into EAS scheme! Just apply for it under anything. I swear like half of the HSC cohort for 2011 got it.
It is basically just like for any disadvantage that will have hindered your performance in the HSC.
UNSW gives Bonus Points, which can be up to 10, and USYD sets a certain amount of positions aside for EAS applicants (I believe it to be 10%). USYD Law fell to 97.95 this year according to the following link.
