Well i didnt even pass my school trials (james ruse one)
is it just me or was there a lot of calculations and pracs in it??
cos i havent the first idea about calculations so i had walked in thinking 'at least i know all the theory' and hoped that it would constitute about 70-80% of the exam but blah
teachers were very pedantic in the words u had in your answers.
So yeah basically, im screwed.

I Hate chemistry so very very very very very much. Not coz i dont understand it. But coz its boring, its pointless and the worst of all its not one of those subjects that u can cram overnight and get a descent mark in the exam the next day.

But i think im gonna do alright :D

I hope they don't ask too many questions on identifying anions and cations because I can't be bothered to remember all those tests, nor all the flame test colours. I don't like "Chemical Monitoring & Management" module much at all because my teacher rushed us through it too fast without doing pracs on it also. The ozone stuff is also quite boring too. I reckon the option "Shipwrecks and Salvage" is probably the maddest module in Chemistry because it's so straight forward and I love electrochemistry. Carbon chemistry, acids+bases, and nuclear chemistry likewise aren't so bad. I love questions where you have to calculate stuff (e.g. titrations) rather than "critically analyse" style questions that are stupid and you just have to write a lot.

It depends on how you define the word, 'kick ass' I s'pose...
85 and above would be kicking ass I think, looking at the amount in the syllabus, the state average and the few people in band 6 last year....

Teacher's are only pedantic about the wording of answers, because that's exactly how it is in the hsc exam!!!

In our trial, I knew about 95% of the material, and I knew exactly what I was talking about in my answers, but because I didn't use the words required in the marking guidelines, my mark was umm...68% I think....

That's exactly why the comments from last year's markers include:
"students can benefit by more precise and scientific use of terminonogy, especially that specified in the syllabus"

I dunno about you guys, but tonight I'm learning my terminology!!

GOOD LUCK to you all!!

Remember, it's not worth stressing about!! The more relaxed you are, the more you remember. :D

...

Acepilot do u really get tutored one half of the year?
That would be awesome.
For me that would rule since i learn all my work independently.
I dont know why but at school i am not active at all to do work.
Tutors would force me to learn concepts and stuff.

Are u even allowed to do that?
I wanna.
