in the unstructured section of the paper, i was wondering if we are required to synthesise the information like we do in english. Is it acceptable to just go:

Intro
topic 1 - discuss - evidence - etc
topic 2 - discuss - evidence - etc
etc etc

Conclusion

?

I think it is pretty much open to what you want to do, depending upon the electives you are doing. I would base it on the question, such as for effectiveness, structure according to effectivenss criteria, or structures/international agreements (i do world order) structure it according to those. Is that what you mean?

well for each question you would have to talk about a few subtopics, eg. for family there's marriage, divorce, children, AFA, etc. My question was could i do a chunk on marriage, then a chunk on divorce, etc etc

Depending upon the question, I mean sure if you can synthesise well and it addresses the question properly then yes, synthesise. But, you do not want to confuse the issue, and present a seemingly unstructured essay. Personally I would do it in "chunks" but that is because I like to know how well I have addressed each issue.
