Oh dude that doesn't mean you can't apply. I called the HR people directly but the other two may have just used the form. If you still want to apply you can... it's never too late cos we're so short staffed! If you joined you could save some of us from doing ridiculous hours :)

I would of thought that it is a bit late to find a cadetship/traineeship for next year. However if you do well at Uni in your first semester you may give yourself a chance of getting one for 2007 at a firm that accepts 1st Year Uni students.

dunno wat the cutoff is for economics at macq...if u cant get into that...then business part time at kuring gai (uts) is a good choice...xcept its pretty far away (i think)....or there is commerce at uws(parramatta campus is the best one) which you can definitely get in... :)

I think in the past the requirements were a course which would be recognised by the ICAA for post-grad studies, but now, ICAA changed the intake rules to allow a more diverse range of people to commence studying of the CA modules, so this might change what is acceptable to firms offering cadetships.

Whats the average/usual pay for cadets at the big 4?

Competitive is subjective- there's more to it than just the number but also career prospects/opportunities and benefits, etc..

From what I've heard most people are getting $27k + benefits (text book allowance, etc..); with the exception of EY who offer $29k I heard for certain divisions.

Ah cool, I guess our allowances comes in the forms of bonuses whenever u pass a subject in uni.. which would cover the textbooks + a few drinks.
