hey guys just a quick question about an english technique.

whats is it called when a recording are taken in front of a fence for example or through a window.

I don't think it is a special kind of technique. You could call it an intruding foreground, but by itself, I don't think it has a name.

YOu could talk about why the fence or window are in the foreground as opposed to what or who is in the background. A fence in front of someone may symbolically represent their imprisonment or some sort of barrier. A window provides a narrower frame and may also suggest a character being trapped.

Could you then just refer to it as mise en scene?
