I'd say just practice writing. Maybe get some past papers and do the multiple choice section or something, English is pretty limited when it comes to studying though.

For SC it can be pretty general so I would just browse an english handbook for techniques, practice writing, expand vocab.

Know all your visual and language techniques.
Know how to write the text types that you are expected to know in the syllabus.
Have some ideas in your head for a short story if it does come up!

Just my 2 cents :)

Flicking through past papers, doing the multiple choice, not bothered doing anything for the writing bit. I just come up with any BS on the spot.

My English teacher said, that if you turn up drunk you could pass.
But he also said that its harder to get a higher end mark, because the SC is designed by the BoD for the marks to be in the shape of a bell curve graph
Where there is an extreme minority of Band 1, a bit more in Band 2, however a lot are in Band 4 and low Band 5, and an extreme minority for Band 6 and that is how they scale. Are parts of this true or not?

And to stay on topic, what I am about to do right now is to some multiple choice, and write 1 of each:
Feature Article
Narrative
Letter
Film Review
Speech

And Im going to read a chapter of my novel before bed to get into a reading mood :D

A bit too much? or....
