Just wondering, is it compulsory to do Ex 1 in Year 12 at SBHS?
These two guys that go there told me it is because of the "shit" results SBHS gets in English compared to what they get in Mathematics in the HSC.

But how can forcing them to do a harder level make them better. If they were anything like my school, if you get crap results, they'll just shove more people into the lowest levels so they ripp it. Like the amount of capable student who get shoved into standard at my school is ridiculous.

Good for you. You'll do well too (based on the things you've posted up on here) :).
In all honesty, I'm quite mediocre.

Yeah, me too. That's the main reason I chose Extension 1 - so I could do the creative writing in Ext 2.

I don't like ext. english much at the moment.

You know how we're supposed to have class discussions? Yeah, well we have teacher discussions. It's so dull.

I want to drop ext english and software next year, but that means I'll have to pick up another unit (4U maths =/). Dunno what I'll do.

@OP: We've done 1984 and are currently studying The Handmaid's Tale.

my extension class is doing fairytales at the moment and is looking at gullivers travels and i really dont think that this genre is such a great topic as it seems too trivial... i guess... is that the right wording....
