Engineering Computer Programs (1 Viewer)

Hi everyone im starting Civil Engineering this year and was wondering if there were any engineering programs that you have/choose to use such as CAD or maple etc and if so what type of specifications for a laptop you would need.

As far as first year goes you will need maple for the mathematics courses.

no you don't need to buy any computer programs in first year

a laptop will probably only come in handy for some solitaire during lectures

its not that i need to buy a laptop for uni, its more im going to be buying a laptop anyway and was wondering if i needed to get a good one for engineering stuff, which sounds like it isnt the case.

You can download a legal copy of autoCAD for free from their website provided you have a uni email address.
