Can your elective be any course from any faculty. Another question, if you choose an elective can you still double major

Generally yes, if you have enough UOC left (24 is what most students take per semester), you can choose any subject, however I some may be restricted.

You also have to keep in mind about perquisites and co-requisites, subjects which you must have already taken or must be currently taking alongside.

You can major as long as you've done the required subjects, I'm sure there's a list of them somewhere.

Keep in mind that double majoring will probably require a lot of courses to undertake, so make sure to confirm you'd have enough spaces left for other electives (or ask permission to overload, from 27UOC to 30UOC).

Keep in mind Electives are different from General Ed's. Electives usually have a list of the ones you can do and Gen Ed units are just any elective.

There are many different types of 'electives' at UNSW. What are you doing?

As D94 said, it depends if the elective is 'free elective' / 'faculty elective' / 'major elective'

Gen Ed units are just any elective.
Isn't it like, as a Comp Sci major you can't take a COMP course for a gen ed?

ENGG1000 is restricted in semester one to students enrolled in a program where ENGG1000 is core.
All other students will be permitted to enrol in semester two
Huh. Well, one page has incorrect info...
