How hard is it to learn the course as a 1st year student? What is the recommended knowledge?

You can only take it in your first year if you are a BE ME student, and if you are, then you should be quite capable.

The actual course prerequisite is ELEC1111.

You should be fine in first year if you have an interest in digital systems. It's a good course and a good introduction into basic engineering design. The assignments are very beneficial.

Only do it in first year if you are a BE ME student. All other students should do it in second year.

First year students have gotten 95+ before. It depends on the individual and final exam technique.
