1. you listed hydrogen as a viable energy source post oil, which is about as promising as a kick to the balls. 2. research doesn't always yield results, especially when you're trying to research for a replacement for something so unique. 3. yes i do. do you know that all current reserves of uranium are based on current usage rates? they won't last "fucking centuries", you daft moron. further, i question that you know what either of those two things are, given that you know about as much about anything scientific as i do anything, idk, about football.

dude, you know diddily squat about science. shut the fuck up and make another boring tl;dr post.

Hydrogen CAN be obtained easily from non-oil based sources (electrolysis via renewables, as is done in Iceland where geothermal is abundant, and can be done anywhere solar is abundant or becomes abundant). Maybe not as cheaply as oil-based sourced (although in the future it will be cheaper due to oil prices increasing while renewable prices decrease), but when you're a government or multinational corporation without an alternative, money isn't exactly an obstacle.

The sad thing is you pretend you do Neb, and then fly into a torrent of insults and namecalling when somebody (rightly) pulls you up for your ignorance.

Anyone with the slightest knowledge of chemistry - of science in general - knows that electrolysis is not a viable energy source. it takes far more energy to put in than it gives out. this is not down to inefficienct appartus. water is a bloody stable molecule. nor is it a viable source of cheap hydrogen to make fertiliser from. and a lack of cheap fertiliser would change everything, leading to the starvation of millions (billions?), compounded by the massive costs in transporting things from A to B, and the costs of running agricultural equipment, and of etc etc etc.

electrolysis is a dead end. you know this slidey.

you didn't call anyone out on ignorance slidey. you questioned my chemistry. i asked how. you ignored the question because you were incorrect. you then tried, for whatever reason, to make the point that the petrochemical industry does not rely on oil. and then you outlined a bunch of antiquated, vastly inefficient industrial processes to try to prove your point. and you failed.
