When ever i hand my economics essays to my teacher, there is always a comment next to the intro ( Define the term..)

I tend to follow a structure like an english essay lmao, not define the term.

Assess the impact of micreconomic reform policies on the Austrlian economy

ME:----( Australian federal governments have implemented extensive microeconomic reforms.....)

teachers: ( Microeconomic policies are polices aimed at individual industries to increase aggregate supply etc..)

So, any ideass? thax

It's always good to start general in any essay by defining the key terms in the introduction. That way, the reader knows the definition of the term as it will be used in the body of the essay (this is more important than you think because some academics tend to extend definitions sometimes) and be better able to keep up with your train of thought and why you think that way.

It's also something you should be doing in your English essays too. E.g. Conflicting Perspectives - "Perspectives are an amalgamation of..."

The introduction is better suited for definitions than the body in a proper essay.

Your introduction shouldn't just be a definition, the ideal way to go about it would be:
1. Introduction (Address the question first, so essentially rephrase the question, then break down the question and define the economic terms, in your case microeconomic reform, then the normal setting out of your structure as always.)
2. Just follow that structure and write out the rest of your paragraphs.
