From my experience with Roselyn, she really set easy question if you really learn and do your assignment (cos i cant believe that she set exam for econ 233, 50%the question are all similar from assignment she gave us) and past exam paper.

BUt anyway Econ 141 you need to know these shit
1. how to intepret
2. what is the effect of heterocedasticitiy/autocorrelation/multicollinearity
3. know durbin watson test
4. do hypothesis testing on t-test and f-test
5. know how to read shazam output
6. what is heterocedasticity and autocorrelation

mmm i think those llists up there are the main points

Erm, last minute dumb question: What does it mean when something is significant? Does it mean it is in the critical region? I got confused :(

This is my understanding of it;

When you do your hypo testing, if you end up REJECTING the null, then it IS significant
that means that if you FAVOUR the null, it ISNT significant.

OR -
it has something to do with small t-ratios being INSIGNIFICANT,

OR-
It has something to do with high p-values being INSIGNIFICANT.

See, 1999 Final, Part B Question 3. (Testing the overall significance)

INDIVIDUAL SIGNIFICANCE Use a t-test for the estimators
OVERALL SIGNIFICANCE Use an F test where the null is b2=b3=b4=b5......=0

Ok, cool thanks.

And paper 2003 Final, I don't know how to do q40 of MC, I get C but the answer says D but I know the way I did it is wrong, I think I did overall or something?

It says something about regressing LY on LX2..

The answer says B (2003)

the correlations matrix tells us the CORRELATION between the varialbes.
i.e, the correlation b/w LY and LX2 = r = 0.986

But the question asks us for "coeffecients of dtermination" => R squared

1999, the answer is A, because of the same method above....

So, we must square 0.986, and get 0.972 which is correct. (B)
