Since I'm doing Combined Law@UNSW, I'll only be doing 6 courses in commerce for first year.

Does that mean it is possible to NOT do ECON1203 throughout all of first year?

Thanks

Compulsory core courses account for 24 UOC (4 courses)
ACCT1501 Accounting & Financial Mgt 1A (6 UOC)
ECON1101 Microeconomics 1 (6 UOC)
ECON1203 Business & Economic Statistics (6 UOC)
MGMT1001 Managing Organisations&People (6 UOC)
Please note: For students intending to complete a major in Actuarial Studies, MATH1151 and MATH1251 should be completed instead of ECON1203 . Please refer to Actuarial Studies outline for further information.

Flexible core courses account for 24 UOC (4 courses). Students should choose four courses from the following list:
ACCT1511 Accounting & Financial Mgt 1B (6 UOC)
ACTL1001 Actuarial Studies and Commerce (6 UOC)
ECON1102 Macroeconomics 1 (6 UOC)
FINS1613 Business Finance (6 UOC)
INFS1602 Info Systems in Business (6 UOC)
LEGT1710 Business and the Law (6 UOC)
MARK1012 Marketing Fundamentals (6 UOC)

That means I have to do total of 8 core courses.
Because I'm doing Combined Law, I only do six core courses in the first year.
So doesnt that mean it is possible to do ECON1203 in the second year?

I think you can do them throughout the course, but its better to get them out of the way first since they are prerquisites and open up a path to you majors or whatnot

people say its better to completely the compulsory core courses all in first year. Then finish the other two flexible core courses in semester 1 year2

but of course if u r doing actuarial studies as a major, u wouldnt need to do econ1203 i believe???
