ive pierced my ears 5 times myself and none of the holes have ever gotten infected. they heal in about a week or so and theyre no trouble. i just push the stud in and leave them alone. i guess im just lucky.
if it gets infect clean it probably twice a day with tea tree oil or hot salty water, they both help keep it clean and dry.

What ever happened to the classic one-hole-in-each-ear?

I must be the only one.
i've still got just the one per ear, but there're lots of people nowdays getting more..i guess it depends how adventurous you are

I only have one in each ear. And mine were hell, because theyre hyper-sensitive, I can only put certain earrings in. So I dont think I could be bothered getting anymore, though I would like to have one at the top.

my ears got infected heaps when i first got them done..that was 10 years ago. they're ok now, but i still cant wear junky stuff (ie. anything which isnt gold or sterling silver) for more than a day. it sucks caus there's lots of nice ones that i cant even look at caus i know they'll make my ears sore and infected

With the cartilege its better to get it pierced with a needle rather than the gun. Eventhough with the gun the stud has the point your still piercing it with a blunt object so the area around it gets bruised and becomes more sore than if you had gotten it done with the needle. The recovery time is generally quicker too and its not such a bitch if you sleep on it :)

OMG, Jebbie, your av is sooooo cute!

that really sucks, Alby, i love earrings and jewellery... i just LOVE it

its really easy to pierce your own ears, and cheaper. i just use a stud cos i find that if i pull it out when i pierce it, it will bleed but if i dont, it doesnt!
