DVD Burners/Writers (1 Viewer)

Does anyone know of any good websites which provide the relevant physics of a DVD burner/writer. I've been looking for ages but it all seems to be technical specs which have no relevance (ie. writing speed etc)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
