DUX of school: did not do ESL? (1 Viewer)

i don't get why not all schools get their dux as the student with the highest UAI, cause UAI is a rank, so it's graded everyone for you...

Because some schools are stupid.
My school has a pretty fair system. We have three internal aggregates and the Dux is the person who gets the highest UAI. The dux is a lot more fairer as scaling kicks in.

As for the ESL - my school's prob 80% from a non-english speaking bakcground however we do not offer ESL.

esl is for those who were not brought up in aust and aslo not living here more than 5 yrs. So we shouldnt consider esl as a cheap subject cuz those esl people are disadvantaged. dux or ducks in school doesnt really matter cuzwe all have equal chance to get to unis. men are not born equally therefore they are treated differently

None of the duxes at my school did ESL (that i know of).
