There's a song, I think it's called 'Strike Up The Band' which is centered around the drummer. It'd be a good one to perform because it sounds impressive. :uhhuh:

just out of interest...what is the criteria for the sorts of drum pieces that you have to do?

in essence, there aren't really any 'criteria' that i must follow...however you are supposed to pick songs that relate to the topics you studied in class...in my case they have been topics such as 'popular music' which leaves the door open for basically anything to be done...personally im just lookin for a tough song that will take me a while to get down...odd metre and lots of technical stuff

Jamiroquai - Whatever it is, I just can't stop

Led Zeppelin - Fool in the rain

Victor Wooten - Zynergy (If you can get your hands on it. The drummer is Carter Beauford from Dave Matthews Band)

Dream Theater - Erotomania

Tower of Power - Squib cakes (and) you've got to funkafize

Metal is cool but funk is where the groove's at ;).

Anyone got suggestions for a kick ass drum piece for my HSC? Im open to anything...at the moment im already doing something from Dreamtheatre and Incubus, need one more.
Are you sure you wanted to do something by Dreamtheatre?.....

AC/DC - D.T., although it's short, repetitive and not particularly complex.

lol...yeh...freaky shit...i got a few cymbals myself...obviously not as many as him...but yeh i can make do with what ive got...all that matters is the feel, the odd metres and stuff...little intricacies like the cymbal use and stuff can vary a little bit
