yes, you can drop a subject any time up until the census date of that teaching session.

you have to be doing minimum of 30 credits each semester to be in full time study mode. most units are worth 10 credits each so yes, you can drop a subject down from the standard 4 and do 3 subjects.

to drop a subject:

1) Go to student administration at http://mysr.uws.edu.au/ then log into your account using your student number and password.

2) Once you are in, click on Enrolment on the left-hand menu.

3) Once you have done that, scroll down the page and click on Unit Selection

4) You should now have a list of all the units you are enrolled in for 2007. Next to each subject there is a DELETE checkbox. Check the box next to the unit you want to drop

5) After you've done that, click on Update cart. It will show you the selection. Once you're satisfied, click on Proceed to Checkout

That's all to it really

No. It's all electronic.

A friend who is doing Social Science, dropped a core unit 3 weeks into the teaching session. He thought it wasn't compulsory. lol.

sorry for the thread revival but , can anyone tell me if you drop a subject; when is the next time you do it? or can you just do it at the end of your whole course?

Before the census which is the 25 August Census date for Spring Session which is also the day that it is debted or payed. Any subject changes after that you must seek permission from from unit-co ordinator to drop.

You cannot just drop a course without penalty after the census without a justified reason. By the end the course it will be way too late your marks will count and if you fail it will be on ur record(Academic Transcript) also if you fail a core unit you will be forced to repeat it, etc.
