An argument could go either way, one could argue that it motivates (e.g. You push each other to study), or one could argue that it can distract one's mind.If people are in relationships during the HSC year does it become a distraction or motivation? Please Discuss.

That's my opinion.I said this yesterday in Non-School, but I dont think the HSC is a great excuse for not pursuing a relationship. In life, you are always going to have to balance a relationship with other stuff like uni and work - eventually, you are going to have to learn how to create that balance.
In response to the actual question of the thread, it can either be a distraction or motivating depending on the circumstances. But that can be applied to almost anything else - like friends, hobbies etc. You just have to know where to draw the line when things start getting out of balance - which is a necessary life skill in my view.
