I have faith that spoons exist.

I compare my feeling of having faith in this spoon with the feeling of love.

.'. love exists?

EDIT: This post is only semi-serious.

EDIT2: I need to stop editing so much.

No.

I know I sound opinionated, maybe biased and quite possibly jaded, but 'love' is just a series of random chemical imbalances in the brain brought about by a purely physical attraction to a member of the opposite (or same) sex and the underyling psychological need to ensure the survival of the species through procreation (in other words, having sex).

The End.
Even so, it's still love. Love is an interpretation of that behaviour. It's a classification of that behaviour that is prevalent in society and is measurable.

Its funny how it all just fades away
to soul decay
from the things the world can say
or can i say
everybody needs a little moment of truth
when they find a new
a new way to live with themselves
nobody ever had a clue
or knew what to do
when they had a little feeling called love
and nothing ever had to wait
if it came to hate
cause you can hate anything before you even try to love it

love is a chemical
straight from your genitals
never is spiritual
never unconditional
love is a chemical
nature is radical
never is spiritual
its mathematical

and everything you've ever known today
is all the world can give you
dont believe in love or hate
its only a chemical

yeah im sorry that you never understood
it'll do you some good
if you look around and find out for yourself
you need a little push to shove
test your love
will that person burn for you
love is a beautiful way
to face the day
but everybody's got it wrong
everybody's got it wrong

love is a chemical
straight from your genitals
never is spiritual
never unconditional
love is a chemical
nature is radical
never is spiritual
its mathematical

and everything you've ever known today
is all the world can give you
dont believe in love or hate
its only a chemical

and i dont wanna be the one who has to look back
knowing my whole life was a lie
i dont wanna be the one who has to replay
everything they've kept inside
and i dont wanna spend another minute careing for the
things that dont mean anything
I never gave a damn about
I'll never be
I'll never be your sacrifice

love is a chemical
straight from your genitals
never is spiritual
never unconditional
love is a chemical
nature is radical
never is spiritual
its mathematical

and everything you've ever known today
is all the world can give you
dont believe in love or hate
its only a chemical

and everything you've ever known today
is all the world can give you
dont believe in love or hate
its only a chemical
ohhhh chemical
chemical
chemical
oh chemical
?
That's basically what I'm saying, but not as emo. If it does exist (ie if I'm wrong in my previous post), then love is simply not worth it as you spend a hell of a lot of time and effort chasing after people who are almost never the 'right' person for you. If love does exist, it wouldn't be so hard or frustrating. Of course, there are probably people like myself who are 'destined' (don't get me started on destiny as I don't believe in it, but for the purposes of this discussion it is applicable) and quite happy to live the rest of their lives alone.

lol
I'm sure the term love surpasses that of being exclusive to love between romantic partners.

What, you're assuming I've tried my hand at finding someone?

No, I've seen people try. And fail. And find it hard and get frustrated (hence my choice of words). Pattern recognition suggests this is normal; logic dictates it's foolish to even try with such a high strike-out rate.

I highlighted those words so I could giggle.
My point was pointing out that the concept of love isn't exclusive to romantic relationships. The thread is to consider the definition of love beyond just that but you gave your opinion and I have no criticism of how you have chosen to see it.
