the question should be "what is God?" not "does He exist?", thats just a foregone conclusion for an endless discussion.....

Good Idea, I think the question of "What is God?" should have a completely different thread.

Earlier on I provided some video links which discussed 'magical thinking', and also discussed the way in which God plays perfectly into the way human beings think. Humans look around their world, they are tool-makers, so when they look at the world they wonder 'what created this'... They then can only think of themselves as a creator species, so they just imagine a gigantic form of themselves. After this, they look around and say 'wow this world is awesome, i've got everything I could possibly need!' so they conclude this world is FOR them...

Anyway I have discussed it earlier however It didn't take up too much. I would love to continue to discuss it.

i will. if you consider God to be a canstruct of the mind (as many do) that permiates and gives meaning to peoples lives then it exists. at the end of the day its a feeling (am i right?) and that feeling exists because you feel it, therefore, in a loose sence, God exists because you define that feeling as God. athiests dont tho, we call it a warm fuzzy feeling, religious people take it one step further. hows that?

God as the creator of the universe

not God as a feeling in someone's mind. Most religious people would cringe with that definition of God.
