drink to get drunk, healthy livers are for fags.
No. I had a bit more than 25 drinks on NYE... and another 17 or 18 last night. I wasn't particularly drunk either night though. I think I am building up a tolerance.

Yeah I dont drink either because Im also a christian, that doesnt mean that I should never touch a drop of anything with alcohol in it (hey i drink communion WINE and its alcoholic). The bible never says that we shouldnt drink rather that we should drink sensibly modelling Jesus in everything we do, including socialising with friends. I have no problem at all with drinking and no doubt i will probably drink one day but when i do ill do it in a holy way.

Jesus' blood was wine.

That dude was permanently wasted, and yet the bible wants to prevent drinking.

lol I am a bit light on my religion, do Christians actually believe that? As in are we suppose to believe that? I have total respect, I'm just wondering if its like a metaphoric meaning or it literally means that.

haha no.

its what Jesus said at the last supper. the bread symbolises his body and the wine his blood.

it would have to be quite the dim fundamentalist to interpret that as Jesus actually breaking a piece of him off to pass around for dinner.

Whether the bible sanctions alcohol is debatable.

But the bible definetly sanctions cannabis as an aid to meditation and religious observance

Genesis 1:11 "And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so."

Genesis 3:18 "... thou shalt eat the herb of the field."

Proverbs 5:17 "Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith."

Psalms 104:14 "He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man."

The etymology of the word "cannabis" and similar terms in all the languages of the Near East may be traced to the Hebrew qaneh bosm ק*ה-בשם, which is one of the herbs God commanded Moses to include in his preparation of sacred annointing perfume in Exodus 30:23; the Hebrew term also appears in Isaiah 43:24; Jeremiah 6:20; Ezekiel 27:19; and Song of Songs 4:14. . Deuterocanonical and canonical references to the patriarchs Adam, Noah, Abraham and Moses describe "burning incense before the Lord". It is also said that cannabis was the first plant to grow on King Solomon's grave.

Who says you have to get so drunk that you forget everything? Are you incapable of finding a happy medium? Granted, in the first year or so of drinking you might do so, but that's mostly on a trial-and-error basis as you get to know your limits. Once you know them, it's easy to simply approach that 'too-much' barrier and get drunk enough to lose your inhibitions, but not your mind.

I don't drink much during school, even on the weekends.
I like the taste of beer, white wine and champagne, but not so much that I feel compelled to drink it.
I can wait till the holidays, and even then I rarely get even tipsy.
As for the religious non-drinkers, does that include chocolate with alchohole in it it? And Christmas pudding?
