When drawing scientific diagrams of cells viewed under a light microscope, outline two rules you need to follow.

2. Always state the magnification, which is given by the ocular lens ^. objective lens.
3. Do not shade the diagram.

5. Label all structures with the labels (straight lines) touching the structure. No arrows. If necessary, their purpose(s).

I think the original poster wants to know the two most important rules when DRAWING diagrams viewed under a light microscopy, which are:

I don't understand 1). If you do not draw a circle, how can you draw your diagram? Just a whole lot of dots?

Also, what is the hp and lp formula? I have never understood this clearly - all those fractions.

it means that you don't draw a circle around what you can see- just draw the cell or whatever without an extra circle as a border i.e. field of view

the cells are very small when they are drawn...it seems illogical to draw about 100 dots without order.
