1.) When you have moved 3 hrs away from home eg Newcastle Uni?

2.) When I live in Bathurst that has the big CSU campus? With this, i would get free board, food and get to stay with my sister and doggy :uhhuh: However living off campus wouldn't you miss out on a lot of stuff?

I think living on campus contributes a lot to your social life, but I guess you have to go with what works best for you. If you can live comfortably and still have a social life I thin campus is best, but if you are struggling financially and can have the option of living off campus with expenses paid, then thats is the go

Living on-campus is absolutely great. You don't have to cook, clean and you can wake up late. Only drawbacks are the cost and increased circle of friends ("could" affect study patterns)

We had to cook and clean at our college. I think colleges that provide meals and cleaning for students are pathetic. It teaches students who are probably living out of home for the first time nothing about the real world and how to take care of themselves.

To me, the major advantage of living on campus is that transport costs are almost nonexistent. All that extra money you save from not having to take the bus/train or not having to fill up for petrol/renew license or rego. Plus as people say, you get to enjoy life on uni, can wake up at 8:45 and be ready for the 9:00 lecture. Unfortunately, especially when it's a large complex, the temptation to down pens and books for alcohol is really great. It has become a chore to get drunk every weekend while I've got assignments rolling in now.

I have to say living on campus affected my grades a bit, but thats just me, I like to have fun and socialise. I would not trade in my experience living on campus for higher grades at all though. The experiences I had and the people I met are with me forever.

Amen to that. Though living on campus means that you can go from downing pens (or logging off) after a marathon innings and 15 minutes later down a 6 pack of Bundy Rum n Cola OP.
