I got one pass. Sigh. And it was a 64 ahhh!

It's really not that hard if you apply yourself. I always set my a distinction as my target in units. Half of the people I talk to seem to live by the 'P's means degrees' mentality, which is all well and good but won't help you later in life.

See I don't like that mentality either. My view is do it well or not do it at all.
Different strokes, I guess.

Almost every mark I get is a 64 or 74. It drives me mad. Like you couldn't give me one more!

There are heaps of students who never received a pass grade in their years at uni.
I think the average is a credit when you look at the bell curve/SNG.
As for myself, only one pass.....and it was a low pass for a very difficult subject.

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. P's just don't look impressive. I got 3 D's, 4 Cr's and 1 P this year, and it was a high P, 63.

I have seen alot of spreadsheets throughout the years where the convenor uploaded the entire pre-exam assessment marks in excel format.
The average is mostly a low to middle credit. Theres quite abit of hearsay that the lecturers adjust the assessments and grades to ensure that marks fall within certain distribution bands.

Where can you find these? I look on the website but found nothing.

they are usually unit specific. you won't be able to find them on the net.
It's funny how so many people know so many people who have. I know a lot of people who only ever got 1 P, but never anyone who never got one at all. I do know a girl who gets nothing but D's and CR's, but did get a fail though, lol.

Can I ask what the advantage to having higher pass grades when you graduate are? Doesn't everyone leave with the same degree unless you do honours? or will employers looks at your passes? I may be niave, just wondering.

Think of it this way. If you're an employer interviewing two pontential employees who seem to be both reasonably good for the position, which would you take, the HD average or the P average?
As for myself, out of the nine subjects I've done so far, I think I had 1P, the rest C or higher.
Depending on the position it might come down to marks, but usually interpersonal communication skills (which are easily judged in an interview) are the main focus, given you have already reached the interview phase of the employment process.
