Do ranks still play a role in ATAR? (1 Viewer)

So I checked my HSC results..was quite disappointed. Most of my marks were lower than the assessment ones.
Just wondering if ranks will be used as well as HSC marks for ATAR or is it now just the marks?

BOS sends your moderated assessment mark (i.e. your rank in the state) and your raw HSC exam mark (i.e. your performance in the state), before aligning, to UAC to determine your ATAR.

So to determine your moderated assessment mark, this is dependent on your own performance at school and your cohort's HSC exam performance. Your actual "rank", i.e. 4th out of 50, doesn't play a role.
