surely if u got 98.7 youd get into a course which is 99.3....im hoping to get into a 70 course with a uai around 63...but i get 5 bonus points for being in the country

A cutoff is exactly that... a cutoff. 78 will not get you into a course with a cutoff of 80. However, some universities will accept you if send a letter explaining that you where somehow disadvantaged, such as a death in the familty before/during the exams.

Been done... By my sister in fact, had two grandparents die, one before and one during the exams.
