Apparently the textbook for CHEM1001/1101 is not required, so I wont buy, but which of the following should I buy the books for:
BIOL1003
BIOL1001
MATH1002

Do you plan to do any BIOL units in SEM 2?

You should defiinitely buy the biol1003 textbook since you'll need it for HBOnline, Math1002 is pretty useful too since it has examples which are helpful for study

BIOL1003 lecturers (Osu Lilje) will tell you that any edition is good and it is good for reference and for studying key-terms for the final exam (which is a MC exam) but I hardly used it and referred back to the lectures/HBO Activities. For BIOL1001 - I wouldn't know as I'd be doing the unit this year.

You don't really need any of them. They're available in the library and you can photocopy relevant pages, if needed. I'm pretty sure there are also sometimes copies in the Lizard Learning Lounge (level 5 carslaw which is a room for first year biology students to study and stuff).

They really should have picked a better name than that.
