Assess Einstein's contribution to quantum theory and its relation to black body radiation

What are some disadvantages to this dot point ????

I don't think this needs disadvantages, they are looking more for your understanding of how Einstein's work shaped future developments in quantum theory. So you would need to explain in what way future development utilized Einstein's results and thus evaluate the consequence of Einstein's contribution

Assess does not always mean pro/con then evaluate.
Take Romesh's advice :)
With a dot point like this -- always start with Planck, then talk about how Einstein extended upon Planck's hypothesis and then how this extension could be used to explain BBR and evaluate :)

So...

Discuss - Adv OR disadv
Assess - Adv OR disadv
Evaluate - Adv AND disadv?

nup, you look at each specific dotpoint, some dotpoints with 'assess' require both pros and cons while some just require advantages

Discuss can mean either Give advantages/disadvantages OR give a description. I.e., Discuss BCS Theory requires you to give a description of the theory
Assess can mean either give adv/disadv then give your own opinion based on what you have said OR talk about how something has impacted on scientific thinking
Evaluate is pretty much the same as assess except the opinion must be based on scientific criteria, rather than your own opinion

Again, it depends on the question being asked

Then what are the adv and disadv for these:

discuss the effect on the magnitude of the force on a current-carrying conductor of variations in:

discuss qualitatively the electric field strength due to a point charge, positive and negative charges and oppositely charged parallel plates

.................... wtf

I've always taken physics to be a quantitative science. In NSW HSC physics it seems to be more a qualitative one.
