No, Internet Explorer is an integral part of Windows. What exactly do you mean when you say "disable"?

By getting rid of the virus or program that keeps opening it up. It isn't internet explorer that keeps openeing itself.

Not if it's the virus that keeps on opening it. Try use a proper removal program.

I had a similar problem with I.E sometimes the reason it encounters a prob is the toolbars which you can delete with the registry editor...or run something like spybot which will remove the spyware or wateva which is corrupting it

When i first moved from IE to Firefox, I uninstalled IE.

....but does that mean he uninstall did anything? Answer: NO!
(by the way, you uninstall it from the add/remove programs > uncheck IE from the list under windows components)

Basically, i uninstalled, which removed direct access to running IE, however, it still existed. When using messanger or other indirect access routes to the internet from microsoft programs, IE would load (even though it was 'uninstalled").

Basically Im just whyning (like usual), how Microsoft should get a dicitionary and look-up the term "Uninstall"!

Now that I've let off some steam, I feel much happier now!

It clearly say uninstall access to IE on start menu etc though.

You can kill IE with registry tinkering, although this is not recommended at all.

yeah, its actually an essential windows component.

The 'uninstaller' only disable accsess to it, it still can be used by windows.

As said earlier, it just removes the link on the desktop and the start menu. So damn useful. Oh yes, really.

Shady_03:
AdAware - Anti-spyware.
Spybot - Ditto.
ClamWin (ClamAV) - Anti-Virus, free/open, none of this fucking around with product keys bullshit.

Download all three. Use them. Stop clicking 'Yes' at porno sites.

Don't go to porno sites in the first place, or go to ones that you can trust.
