i have never ever listened to a directors commentary on a film dvd ever

or any commentary of any kind

why do they put them on the dvds theyre so boring

They do it to fill up disc space so nobody else can copy things onto it.

Sometimes they're interesting. It depends on the director and what you're looking for.

Director commentaries are for the people who absolutely worship the movie and want to find out every single intricate detail about it. I personally find it very interesting to hear the struggles they go through and the exact ideas they try and communicate through the movie.
I guess it's like watching the deleted scenes of a movie or the interviews the actors go through. It isn't a thing for everyone.
