Hey ummmmm well to give you and idea it was 5minutes 55 seconds long and well i was up pretty much every single night this year till 3:30am working on it from 5pm each night. But i love 3D alot so i don't mind......of course that left no room for other subjects hehe...The showreel is entirly 3D with no actual film and it took me on average 4 minutes per frame to render. (For those oblivious, there are 24 frames of animation to be rendered for 1 second of film. So as you can imagine it took ALOT of rendering time!!)
I used 3D Studio Max R3..i have an old student version so its about 3 releases previous to anything that was used in even the art express animation of 2003. I am completly self taught in Max and its taken me about 4 years to get to what i can do today.
Its called 'Suburban Reality' and follows the chain of events that occurs in a small country town after a road worker arrives. Its been nominated for Art Express 2004 and also helped me to get a Full fee scholarship to KvB Institute of Technology.
