i remember in year three, our teacher had some computer game in which you had to seek out and find the Kraken. i reallly wanted to be a marine biologist for all of year three. i pwned at that game.

its sort of changed over time in terms of practicality and whatever was cool at the time.

primary school - marine biologist, actress, lawyer, teacher, journalist, the first female prime minister.. so many things

7 - 10 - i was like wtfidk. seriously, i had nooo idea

11 - teaching, though i didnt know whether i wanted to do early childhood, primary or secondary

12 - secondary teaching

Didin't even think about a career years 7-10.
Then I wanted to be an Architect.

Now it's Industrial Designer in automotive design.

That's just my back-up plan.

year 11 - thought of doing law - thought it was unrealistic. (Even at uow)
End of year 11 - decided I could achieve it and went for law

Why do so many people want to become marine biologists? My little sister does and two other kids at her primary school.

Always going to be an army officer (ADFA entrance), did JOES day and officer selection interviews etc, was successful (pending UAI) for RAIC, RAAC, Intelligence corps

They then asked me if i could ever kill anyone...

had a rather life changing moment and I couldn't honestly answer 'yes' to them that I could go out and intentionaly cause harm to another human being, self defence and defence of others yes but not with intent to harm.

So had a major backflip and want to be a Nursing Officer with the RAAF then ASNSW Paramedic jumping out of their choppers on retrievals.

Is that a decrease in aspiration? probably but I dont care!

Childhood to Yr 6 = doctor
Yr 7 to Yr 9 = lawyer
Yr 9 to Yr 10 = foreign correspondent
Yr 11 t- Yr 12 = maybe journalism but realistically I'll probably just do something in a Bachelor of Arts and then get a job and hopefully use those skills.

Hopes and dreams lost because of the HSC lol a true reality check.

It's pretty sad that alot of us, including me to a degree, wanted to become lawyers.

Honestly, lawyers.

Shows how much we grew up to love money.

I didn't know about UAI's until about year 10.

Up until year 8 I wanted to be a vet. Then I wanted to be a drummer, then a bartender.
Now I'd be happy with almost any job that would provide financial stability.
