Lucky this show rates well. The ABC would never pull a show that had high ratings and was encouraging young people to watch the ABC, because they've had problems with that demographic (apparently).

I can't imagine Chris Lilley thinking "Hey, a girl just died from taking a bad pill LOL lets make a tv series out of it". It's a coincidence and should be treated as such

But yeah, waah waah waah family. Maybe don't watch the show. Push one button and watch CSI or whatever else is on. Don't try to get the ABC to pull a program which is actually good.

Yeah, that 90 minutes of programming is all I watch lately, really convenient because it's on all at once too, lol.


To the people asking about ratings, they apparently have over 1 million watchers per episode so far, probably helped along significantly from being on right after Chasers' (I know that's why I started watching).

The whole thing with Ja'mie and the fight with the girls was so fucking spot on.

It's almost eerie how good Chris Lilley is at zoning in on that shit.

I loved Jonah telling the school staff they owed his father an apology, after he admitted to making the whole thing up.

I'm guessing Jonah didn't make it up though. Maybe he said he made it up just because his dad was right next to him.

The ABC is all I watch these days. The Sideshow with Paul McDermott on tonight is also good.

I doubt it. He said he wanted to get out of that speech, which makes sense. I have trouble believing the picture was a genuine cry for help.

I agree. Didn't seem like a real thing. Especially with the dad's reaction.

That scene made me slightly uncomfortable as well, because i had no idea where it was heading - quite unexpected .

Actually, it's really easy to stereotype them, Americanise them or make it too over the top but he's done a great job of keeping it at just the right pitch, pace and just believable enough.
