Hey I know this isn't exactly medical but it is pretty close. I was just browsing Griffith's dental website and at the bottom in reference to their courses they had this (* Griffith university is currently seeking accreditation for its dentistry and oral health programs through the appropriate accrediting bodies.) so I'm wondering what exactly does this mean. After graduating if they do not achieve accreditation will graduates be able to work as dentists? What is involved in accreditation and finally what are the chances that they do not get accredited?
Thanks in advance.

They can't accept students if they're not accredited, so don't worry. It's sort of a formality, since no school would seek accreditation until they were damn sure they qualified.

But the thing is, they accept people into another degree first. Then u do a post grad qualification in dentistry or something. If that post grad degree isn't accredited then your stuck with one degree. Alvin explained this somewhere.

hmm they did this with the vet school in CSU. theyve taken in first years this year, but havent been accredited for them to practice in NSW even. They wont find out until this years first years are in third year. a big gamble i say... i dont think many people know what their cirriculum is like, they kinda just proposed in making a vet course out of nowhere.
