True, but what we do can influence other countries (even if only via "me-too-ism"), which WILL have an impact.
lol, do you really believe there is any possibility, any developing nation will be willing to compromise on improving the standard of living for their people in any way, for any significant emissions reduction?

Man, the world runs on fossil fuel, and always will.

Australia should do nothing. Carbon tax is the lesser evil.

Our economic and governmental system needs to be scrapped tbh. People shouldnt be free to consume whatever they like and as much as they like. These things need to be decided by more rational people with bigger vision. People need to wake up to the fact that modern western society is no less tyrannical as it was under Hitler or Stalin or Mao or the Pharoahs - the only difference is that we're brainwashed into thinking that we want this materialistic oppression.

Herald-neilson poll this week had just over 50% of the pop in favour of nuclear but 40% flat-out opposed.
