I suck at curve sketching, I'm finding it the hardest topic for 4U!
Is there any hints, tips and tricks to curve sketching and can anyone
refer me to any useful resources to help with curve sketching.
I cannot even manipulate reciprocal functions.

A simple way to get a hang of curve sketching is to simply go back to basics and use a Table Of Values. Let's use the example this example; f(x) = x, sketch f(x) = 1/x.
Now we now that f(x) = x is a 45' line from the origin O, so simply choose a few distinct points. I'm going to choose x = -3,-2, -1, -->0-, 0, -->0+, 1, 2, 3. Now apply these same points to f(x) = 1/x. It becomes; -1/3, -1/2,-1. --> ∞-, undefined, --> ∞+, 1, 1/2, 1/3 respectively. This method, albeit time consuming, should help give you a basis to curve sketching and allow you to soon simply draw graphs by inspection.

N/A
Determine:
1. Vertical Asymptotes
2. Horizontal Asymptotes
3. Oblique Asymptotes
4. x and y intercepts
5. Left hand and right hand limits for the Vertical Asymptotes
6. Check if function crosses an asymptotic line

Then sketch. 4U sketching questions usually don't require calculus, but there are the odd questions which require you to determine the max/mins etc.

hey thats mine LOL, but thanks for putting it into a pdf lmao
Awesome notes, best layout I've ever seen outside an actual math textbook. (Saved them)

PS: I think you made a mistake on the x+sinx example for f(x)+g(x).
