That would have been so awesome if india somehow managed to chase that down. Great game nonetheless.

finally, hayden, ponting and symonds all hit some form today. especially ponting, great inning on the verge of controversy.

india chased well, they were a real chance until gambhir got out. good game nonetheless.

great start by australia basically took the game away from the indians. the start was so old school man, something you'd see in '96

gambhir did well to get india to the highest 2nd innings total at the scg - imagine how different it could be if sharma yuvraj or tendulkar had even got to double figures. on the same topic tendulkar has been looking out of his depth against lee in the last year or so.

good match, now the onus is on SL .

for the sri lankan newcomers to be on the same competitive level as the other two teams it is too big of an ask. they have done well bowling wise.

allan border medal tonight, i am tipping hayden, for his amazing form running in the world cup and in the test series. brett lee should be close as well.

sl right now 7/102, from 1/70. begs the question, what happened?

Wow. Australia committed absolute suicide.

5/115.

Faggots.

Hussey und Haddin better fucking bad through the last 100 runs, else I'll be pissed.
Dont check the score now then.

Australia 7/144. Epic fail.

Hogg and Lee need another 73 runs.

Doesn't really matter. Should still smash the over achieving indians in the finals anyway.

Ponting: 1
Clarke: 0
Symonds: 0
Hussey: 5
Haddin: 7

Hmmm, well lets just hope this 'chance to practice chasing down a total' according to Ponting, doesn't carry on to Sydney when they take on the Indians. Because really, chasing down 222, the aussies have played shit to some good bowling.

disappointing, but full credit to Lee and Bracken...they really fought hard at the end.

middle order has always been a bit shaky this summer, hope it doesn't go the same way as last year.

the australian batsmen form has been an absolute piss off to watch lately. sure, i mean sometimes you lose form, but its like hte whole team. ponting has been playing absolutely hopeless for the last few weeks bar the century against india at the SCG, same goes with symonds and hussey too. hayden hasn't been in great form either but kicking their arses. australia really need to lift their game man, especially with final 1 on sunday

Cricket is a team sport.

Both the bowlers and the batters need to work together to win.

You can't just single out indivuduals and blame them, you have to blame the team as a whole when you lose, and praise the team as a whole if you win, even if there are standout or subpar performances.

This is what really annoys me about cricket, and why ive stopped playing.

back to indivual sports.

At the end of the day, Australia is still the best cricket team in the world, and every team has their slumps in form every now and then.

With that many quality players in one team, it shouldn't last long. Also keep in mind that theyve lost what 3 games this tri series ? that's not really that bad, just is magnified because australia has been so good for so many years.

Aussies finish with 8/239.

Both teams will be happy that. Aussies were at one stage 3/24, so it could have been worse. On the other hand, India managed to contain them to less than 250 when the aussies at 3/124 looked like they'd score 280-300.

Should be a good chase.
