My contemporary issue I have chosen is: Child Labour in India. I'm just wondering if I have to use effectiveness criteria in order to evaluate the effectiveness of legal and non-legal responses to the issue.

effectiveness criteria =

  • resource efficiency
  • accessibility
  • enforceability
  • responsiveness
  • protection of individual rights
  • meeting society’s needs
  • application of the rule of law
  • has justice been achieved?

The criteria is there for a reason, so use it. you can also use other elements to judge effectiveness, such as cases and articles

You have a lot of questions, and for most of the answers, your teacher should of talked about ..

State anything in the syllabus.

Say sentencing

Maximum sentencing- discuss it and explain how it may be easy or to hard (sentnecing wise) and explain how the community may feel.

Basically bullshit communiy attitudes towards laws and you will be fine

to evaluate the effectiveness of the legal responses you must use the criteria, but you don't have to use the criteria for the non-legal responses
