Hey,

Can someone help out and post up a list of some of the major human rights issues around now? I'm really stuck on this one.

Thanks =)

Well, on a domestic level there's the issue of illegal immigrants being locked up without facing trial. This is a breach of the Doctrine of Natural Justice.

There's the issue of gays not having the same full legal rights as heterosexuals.

On an international level, there's the issue of human trafficking, where people are transported across nation boundaries usually for prostitution.

There's the issue of child solders.

This is a broad case study. As mentioned previously it encompasses anything from asylum seekers as a domestic human rights issue to guantanamo bay, human trafficking and sudan as an international human rights issue. Your legal and non legal measures (NGOs) should correlate with your case study. Also you should be ready to differentiate domestic and international measures - for instance - asylum seekers - international: UNDHR (1948), UN Convention on the Status of Refugees (1951) and the UN Convention on Civil and Political Rights (1966) which specifies the right to asylum; domestic: BPA (2001);
Hope that helps :)

Syllabus asks for both domestic and international issues and remedies
