don’t laugh >< just need insight

ive been with bf close to a year now

and recently, ive noticed that our communication is kinda just disappearing

normally, we call each other heaps and there’s heaps to talk to.. or even smsing @ random times...

recently, feels kinda one sided...

ive been thinking its cos uni has started again and stuff?
but even in the past, during uni times, the situation wasn’t this dense
but wen we do start talking.. twice a week.. its good for about 30mins but then we just have to get to sleep for next day...

am i reading too much into it? should i not be as worried as i am?

sorry for all the typos ><

i don't know...
maybe its a thing with relationships they either go strong or begin to die down
balance is a thing that not many couples can do
to balance your work and play is what good couples can do
if you need to find spare time in your week to just spend it with each other have your own day.
or something liek dat

A good relationship is one that can stand the test of time. We have partners for the purpose of being kept company, what most people forget is that these people may well spend their 70 or so years with you. You can't expect to have the sort of active communication as when you meet someone new. However saying that, if it becomes really bad then maybe their is an issue of compatibility.

I agree with the above. Sometimes you just find yourself with nothing interesting to say.

If he's just tired, studying or multi-tasking, then it's not such a big deal that he's not talking much. But if he's not busy and just gives one-worded answers while you talk your brains out, then something could be up.

Don't get too stressed about it. More importantly, don't start making lists of what to talk about to get him interested. :p It's probably just a phase that'll pass. And you don't always have to have interesting conversation-topics to enjoy each other's company. My boyfriend and I talk on the phone every night and we talk on MSN. So sometimes we just say complete jibberish crap to each other. :p

i agree with dreamerish and bscienceboi, you can't red too much into this. it happens. i talk to my bf everynight and sms him randomly too, and everyonce in a while you just haven't done anything exciting, or you're just too tired to talk.
just relax, you'll get past it, don't get worried til theres something solid to worry about.

omg...i have actually made it a choice not to actively talk to my ladyfriend on msn if it isnt all that important, and amazingly, she understands. once i start talking on msn, i cant really stop. so ill talk to friends and shit, but never to the lady because after a few nights of endless jibber, i dont know what to say when i really see her. :p

i actually called her on the phone a few times for important reasons even though i knew she was online. :p

it isnt a cause of alarm if he looks pissed, annoyed or dazed. if its repetitive., then maybe he has lost interest in you, which isnt abnormal.

As said you just run out of things to say, especially true if you see each other alot eg live together, work together, do same courses at uni etc etc. My advice if that is the case is to take up a hobby or somesuch so that then when you are together you can talk about it.

I don't think I'll be able to do that, talk every night on the phone. I'll end up talking nonsense and start making odd noises.

We do talk nonsense and make odd noises. :p

We also make up ridiculous nicknames for each other.

We don't bitch about other people (much) but when we're together and see another couple we'd always say "we look better than them". It's become a habit now because I said it as a joke on our first date.

Ahhh the good'o joke that lasts a lifetime.

Next time your on the phone type in the Simpsons theme song (using the numbers; search on google). Or ask him, What sound does a truck make when it reverses? then hang up.

(I don't use the phone much so I don't know if that last trick works or not. From memory it works only for the caller not the initial reciever.

Haha, I've been with him for two years, I've tried everything. :p

I did the truck one ages ago, it was funny at the time. As for the Simpsons tune... well, the range of the keypad tones isn't large enough to play it, so I haven't tried it. However, we've played other tunes on the keypad when we got bored.

Over the phone? That's odd. Sounds suspiciously like something else. :p
It could be what you think it is.

But we, well... I do make strange sounds when I'm bored...

my bf and i are the same as dreamerish, we end up making stupid weird noises on the phone when we're bored... keeps it interesting, it's hard to keep coming up with new sounds, they all end up being the same :(
