I have an essay to write

Q. How have the texts studied in this elective challenged your ways of thinking about conflicting perspectives?

I really don't know where to start, does anyone have any ideas or a definition of challenged in this context?

First of all, you've posted this thread in the wrong section of the forums. It should go somewhere in the English forums.

To answer your question, by challenged I think it means changed or influenced the previous perspectives you held on 'conflicting perspectives'. So you can use words like reaffirmed, re-established, put into focus, influenced, clarified etc etc..

I think it just means how has it got you to think of conflicting perspectives differently. Im not quite sure, but that it makes sense to me in my head. :)
