thats fine for cod4 and mirrors edge.

my dream pc would be:
cpu: i7 3.2ghz
gfx: geforce gtx 295
ram: 8gigs
os: vista ultimate x64
hdd: 1TB

and like..at least 20" screen
Nice. Or phenom BE x4 setup.
Should we be expecting dramatic price drops anytime soon on lga775 gear considering the new sockets have arrived?

Err the tv's are more expensive than monitors.

I have a Samsung 19inch TV that i connect with the VGA port.(used as my desktop monitor)
and i also have a samsung 46inch HD TV in the living room that i connect my new laptop with, i use HDMI. Just need to buy urself a $20 1m hdmi cable and set TV source to HDMI output and your viewing.

laptop?

so like, u connect it, then stuff comes up on the big screen? even games?
wow, hows it run? fine?
first time viewing a computer on a 46inch screen... my reaction "WHAT THE F**K, LOOKS AWESOME!, runs the same IMO. I play COD4 on the big screen with my desktop during uni holidays, the sound output is great! also dvd viewing is a dream.

Everything will come up perfectly, as long as your native resolutions match. My laptops max res is 1440x900, so that is what works best on the TV screen. You can just fiddle around with it. Everything looks stunning on a TV, really recommend it. Plus it actually doubles as... wait for it... a TV so it is actually more versatile than a monitor. For less.

so is it as simple as getting a hdmi cable, sticking one end into laptop, and the other end into tv?

my laptop has a butten, i press Fn+F8 to switch between laptop screen and external monitor, so i literally just stick hdmi cable into laptop and other end into tv and then Fn+F8?

and the stuff on laptop screen just pops up on tv screen?

edit: and i wont be seeing my krudd money, its going straight to pay off the new house we bought in kogarah for $600k :(

Consider response time and resolution though... If your gear is shit and your screen is large, shit fraps and mega lag

yeah THATS what i was thinking might happen.
The old laptops, u need to press Fn f8 or wateva on the laptop. But when i connected for my laptop, it automatically switched to the TV source, it even asked me if i wanted to see the picture on the TV AND laptoptogether.

for older PC's and graphic cards, you might need to play around with the resolution.Omie Jay, here's a few pics (Not clear though arghh!)
