Not true. As long as he isn't pumping to much voltage into it and it stays at a nice temp it won't matter how high he goes.zehurricane said:Waaaaaa u beat me because it overclock.
you know that the save OC speed for quad is 3ghz rite? because at ur speed you going to short live your cpu.
Not needed. Unless overclocking RAM stays at an acceptable temperature.STx said:Ok im guessing the ram doesn't have heatsinks on it so try put that fan over the ram slots if you can get it to hold there or tie to some part inside.
The PSU doesn't really affect it. Got my brothers e2140 to 3ghz stable on air with a generic 500w PSU. e21XX series are great overclockers but still, PS shouldn't affect much.zehurricane said:nah i need a better psu to try and overclock it.
When did you do that? Overpriced.MathsIsWeird said:Intel Core2Quad Q6600
ASUS P5E
eVGA 8800GT
4GB Corsair DDR2-800MHz
Corsair HX-620 Modular PSU
Antec 900
Sony Black 18x DVD-RW X2
Plus 500gb segate
this will cost around $1450-1550
PLEASE people don't get yourself the Antec 900. Terrible cable management that stifles air movement. Dust magnet.
Don't buy a case to make your e-penor bigger with all that bling. The coolermaster 690 can be had for $90 or $115 with a side window and can house 7 fans. Up to 10 if you zip tie a few.
Doing the test now.
