Whats with the constant shifts? You only just started working there, right? Thats pretty cool how they give you like a shift a day even when you're new. Are they shortstaffed or what?

Some of the permanent staff are starting to go on holidays, but I don't think they do much recruitment during the year at this store, I think they get most of their staff from the xmas ppl.

Holy fuck, KMart sucks. Done my first shift and I still haven't been paid for induction training. I have a sneaking suspicion they've lost or otherwise fucked up my bank details. And the fuckers doing the roster keep asking me what days I can't do - then putting my shifts ONLY on those days. Yeah, good one guys.

Oh, and was it me or was that induction booklet the worst-written thing you've ever read? I particularily liked "entrepenutial SPRIT" and "male employees should be clean-shaven AND facial hair kept neat and tidy at all times".

Too much Coles-Myer rage here.

Hehe how funny are you. Which KMart are you at? Ok:
Your line manager should be the one who does rosters. Write down the exact dates and times you can't work and hand it to them.
Ask your line manager if you can check your bank account details. If they are wrong or non-existent, check them.
As for induction money, if you are that concerned (it was only around $30 for me) fill out a 'wage query' form that should be sitting outside the cash office or ask for one.

Im 18 and get $11.37 an hour ($16.11 on Sundays)
?
So are you working there or not anymore? Which store? I didn't have a training, unless you're on registers you don't really need it....

Didn't know about the wage query form, thanks. I work at Broadway. Doing nightshifts - everyone else there seems to be either a) working on the other side of the store as me or b)an incomprehensible 30 year-old

Incidentally, I've never had training - or in fact any kind of explanation of procedure that I didn't have to pry out of my line manager with a bloody crowbar.

Haha bugger ay. All our managers are really good (I spose it helps that most are in their mid-late 20s and none are over 35) and everyone has lots of fun. All I can suggest is use ur breaks to socialise (best time of the shift!)
