Construction of the new Information & Communications Technology Building will commence on Tuesday 27th April 2004. As the new building will be constructed above the top floor of the Multi Storey Carpark it will be necessary to close the Multi Storey carpark and a section of Carpark 1 during construction. As work progresses the lower levels of the Multi Storey car park will again become available for use.Limited parking will be available at the rear of the Multi Storey Car Park, driveway access to this carpark is halfway along the main entrance road (as shown on the location map).
All Reserve and Staff parking bays have been relocated to Carpark 2 during building works.
A temporary carpark (No15) located off Wirra Crescent will provide additional general parking during construction.
Please note this is a paid carpark, a valid permit must be displayed. University Traffic and Parking rules apply.
We apologise for any inconvenience these building works may cause to Students, Staff and Visitors to Callaghan campus. Any enquiries should be directed to parking@newcastle.edu.au

so what do we think? damn this new building!!
as if parking wasnt already crap enough...i mean, i pay $96 a year for the 'privelage' of parking there, and yet they dont provide enough parks. screw them!

this whole thing has been planned totally wrong, they didnt start work untill the day before uni went back, when they had two whole weeks to start it up. that way they could have opened the bottom up already.. they suck ass and i want my parking permit money back....

i thought it was closed so they could add another 2 storeys of parking onto the top.. in which case i was willing to grin and bear it if it meant more parking..

but another building????

and the wirra cres. park is miles from anywhere... when u have 10mins to get to the McMuffin building its not a great place to park

I kind of feel sorry for those who paid for a permit when parking was already bad, and now it's even worse
Came in to uni the other week on tuesday at about midday, and had to park about 12 back-streets away ..may as well have parked at home and walked

I'm registering in 8am classes next semester so that i ahve to be here early and i will get a park..... plus the traffic is a pain in the ass trying to get here as well,not just once you're inside... big fat fucking gggrrrr

anyone else notice the shuttle bus flyers on cars today..they are doing laps around the uni, departing from carpark 15 at: 8:45, 9:45... i think

Yeah, that was so stupid of them. I can't get a park anywhere anymore. I have to ark like at the top of the car park at the top of the hill! I think it is closer parking on the grassland across the road from the University!

They should have built another story on top of the old car park while they were doing this, but I suppose it would have only added a minimal amount of new car parks anyway.

Is this so you can get a lift from where you part to the University? Still, I would rather walk.

shuttle buses??? that would be fantastic... considering the alternative carpark is just about in Waratah!!!!

takes me 40 mins to walk home from uni, and thats taking a short cut over bray park

it takes me 40 minutes to drive home from uni and thats on a good day.. when i finish at 5 it takes over an hour!
