does anyone know what a raw mark 75% in sac is aligned to. Guys now I'm kinda contemplating whether or not I should drop sac or bio cause bio I actually kinda studied for and I only got a 53%. SAC I literally made up stuff and I never do the work

they don't have it for sac. only for the high marks in sac tho so idk. Like would a raw 75 scale to a b5. But sac def scales worse than business and bio

ok so by this graph i think ur score is around the break even so its not gonna get scaled up or down too much for sac. but ur biology mark would still remain in the 50s. check ur ranking and average and then u can decide which one u can drop

I just really need to know the average for sac but idk. I got like 1.5 marks or smth above average for bio tho. I checked and it aligns to around a 71 or smth for bio

wait im confused how scaling works now. i got a 95 last year, and found out i lost 1 mark in the exam and 4 from my major. but like what does it mean by scaling bc my hsc and exam mark were both 95 ??

scaling is done after alignment. so the HSC mark you get is the alighned mark and then scaling happens but the scaled mark isnt released to you. That scaled mark is used to calculate the aggregate which in turn is used for atar.

that's alignment. Scaling is when they use ur aligned mark and scale them to calculate ur atar

yeh. alignment depends on how everyone did in the exam in that specific year so they standardise what a band6 mark would be raw.
then scaling is to adjust for the difficulties of certain subjects. so for example physics has better scaling than bio.

so a HSC mark of 85 in phsyics will scale more than in bio.
