I recently got an assignment where I need to make a model for the dissolution of glucose and sodium chloride in water.

According to the marking criteria, I need to get bonding angles, accounts for non-shared electrons, 3-D model, polarity correect, orientation correct, intermolecular bonds demonstrated, intramolecular bonds demonstrated, relative atomic proportions correct in size and strength.

I don't know how I can come to accomplish all the above criteria in just one model and I don't know what materials can be useful when it comes to making this model. Some people are apprently going to use straw or something to connect molecules.

Any suggestion?

Uhh... wtf? That's a crazy assignment. :(

Also, how can you make a model for the dissolution of glucose and sodium chloride in water? It's a series of steps...

You make a 3-D representation of it. You show how hydrogen molecule of water molecule bonds with and what the bond angle is. You also have to show the polarity of each molecule.

It is a pretty crazy assignment.

What kind of program should I use to make this model?

series of models + little title cards for each one, explaining the steps....

you can try making a 3d model on the computer :)

or use ping pong balls and skewers???
Or styrofoam balls that you could probably find at an art and crafts store..

The computer model would look pretty cool though.. (and somewhat more professional)

I have absolutely NO IDEA about computer stuff but maybe flash? I think you'd have to learn all the codes and stuff though.. i dunno..
